Do You Know You are a Game Changer In The Family?

by | Jan 26, 2025 | Inspiration

Have you ever wondered why God placed you in your family? He strategically positioned you there to fulfil a unique purpose, to bring transformation and blessings to those around you.

Galatians1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace.’

From time to time, God raises people to change situations in life to be consistent with our dispensation or bring deliverance, to establish His purpose. Isaiah 43:19- ‘Behold I am doing a new thing, I make all things new’. God will use you to make new things in the family.
In somebody’s family, they are idol worshipers, but God has placed you there to convert them to Christianity. There is no university graduate in the family; God will use you to break that in the family, and after you, there is going to be more graduates in the family. You will be used to do a new thing. That thing that he has deposited in you can cause you to make a difference.

David became a game changer in the history of Israel. His experience with wild animals developed his braveness and trust in God. He was trained to be a warrior in the bush. And God used that to deliver Israel from the Philistines. God uses challenges to sharpen us to make us effective somewhere. Challenges bring experience and lessons; through that our gifts or abilities become evident.
Joseph’s gift was interpretation of dreams and through that God used him to save Egypt and the world from famine.
Esther’s beauty earned her a place in the King’s palace and God used her to save the Jews from being annihilated. Jesus was a game changer. Before Christ, it was all legalities and rules but when Jesus came, he started breaking the rules showing them that there are better ways to worship God, infact He is the way. When the Spirit of God came upon Jesus (Isaiah 61), he was anointed to preach good tidings unto the meek; to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; In verse 3, He was appointed to give the people ‘beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified”. The people needed it, the game changed. God’s purpose for mankind was established through Jesus Christ.
You are also a game a changer in your family. God’s purpose for your family may be established through you. You may be very vocal or confident, brave; allow God to use it for the purpose for which he deposited it in you; for a good course not for bad deeds. All that you are going through, all the dreams and thoughts, imaginations and hope that are coming to you, God is working through you to change or improve a situation. He will make you feel the pinch to push you to do what you have to do. You may not like your parents situation; you may be the game changer to bring smiles to the family.
You may not like the madness plaguing your family members. There may be
some premature deaths in the family. As you ponder over it like Nehemiah, God will cause you to do something about it. The thought of the ruins of Jerusalem became a burden as he pondered over it. With Fasting and prayers (please note), God used him to rebuild Jerusalem. He gave him the favour, the grace and all the resources he needed and even the people and the support he needed. I do not think Nehemiah was a royal but he became their leader in the end. Becoming a game changer does not require sophistication, just you, your closeness to God and your faith. He uses whom he pleases, do not look down upon yourself.
