As the saying goes, life is war, and the weapon we use to war is prayer. We should not only pray when trouble rare it’s head. God is not only there to save us from our troubles. Bible says God rules in the affairs of men. Making Him part of our daily activities would be a good thing to do.
We are like phones so we need to recharge our batteries everyday for our spiritual strength to be replenished. Prayer is our charger with which we charge our spirit for more energy.
Prayer is communicating with your maker. The bible instructs us to pray always. In Luke 18:1. Jesus spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart. The challenges in this world are far beyond our ability and we need to always register our presence before God to ensure He takes up our battles. The bible says our prayers become a memorial before God, so make prayer a routine. In Acts 10:4, God sent an Angel to Cornelius to inform him that ‘his prayers and alms are come up for a memorial before God.
If you do not recharge through prayer, you may fall victim.
The enemy is always around to alter the purposes of God in our lives and it is our responsibility to ensure that it does not happen. “During those days Jesus went out to the mountain to pray and spent all night in prayer to God” (Luke 6:12). If we can spend all night jamming, we should not have a problem praying all night. It is more beneficial.
“After dismissing the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Well into the night, he was there alone” (Matthew 14:23).
Even Jesus needed to pray for more strength. God sent Elijah and Moses to strengthen Jesus for the task that was ahead. You need some level of strength and faith to face a particular challenge in life. You do not know the task ahead of you. You can only receive power to face it through prayer.
Praying into your future clears the obstacles and hindrances, delays, sicknesses that are ahead. If you notice something bad in the family or in your life, it is prayer that can take it out, not by being careful or avoidance, especially when it is spiritual. You will by all means encounter unwanted situations you have to clear. In Exodus 33, we see the Israelites clear the Hittites, perrizites, the canaanites from their way as they went to occupy the land God gave them. Certain misfortunes can be avoided through prayer. Prayer makes us spiritually awake. When you are prayerful, you become spiritually aware of your surrounding. God reveals mysteries to us when we pray. Things you did not understand, you can now understand when you pray. Daniel 10 :12 ‘Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words’. We learned that in Daniel 6:10, that Daniel prayed 3 times a day.
The bible says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”(James 4:13).
God knows why He is telling us to pray all the time. The bible says the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour. Resist him … (1 Peter 5:8). Prayer will empower you to be able to resist the devil. We pray for protection, improvement, healing, for change, for deliverance, for life, for direction, to establish God’s purpose. We also pray to show our gratitude to God.
We receive or stir up our spiritual gifts through prayer. It helps us in life. We are able to discern what is ahead; manoeuvring through life struggles. There are a lot of benefits in prayer. It keeps us close to God, It also helps us to attain the promises of God. We become spiritually strong and sensitive. When you are sad, pray. When you are confused, pray, when you are sick, pray. Pray when you are afraid. Pray even when you are happy. James 5:13 says “Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises” . The Holy Spirit has been given to support us in prayer and everything. He comes close when we pray. He gives us utterances. When we are consistent in prayer, we become friends with God (like Abraham), so He does not hide anything (anything we need to know) from us. We receive wisdom and understanding.
Burdens leave us when we pray. Evil covenants break when we pray. Curses break. Life battles are won through prayer.
Prayer moves mountains, make it a part of your life.
