LIFE IS FULL OF GATES

by | Jul 4, 2025 | Inspiration

Life is full of gates, and each stage presents its unique gate. These gates can symbolize opportunities, transitions, or barriers that require us to meet specific requirements to progress. While some gates may open easily, others may remain closed unless God intervenes.
In the Bible, gates often represent pivotal moments, opportunities, or challenges that test our faith and resilience. They can signify paths to new beginnings or obstacles to overcome. Throughout life, we encounter various gates that can either propel us forward or seem insurmountable.
Consider the gates of education, career, marriage, or parenthood. Each gate requires us to meet specific requirements or make crucial decisions that can impact our trajectory. Some gates may not open. As God promised Cyrus in Isaiah 45:1 …. I will lose the loins of Kings to open the two leaved gates ….’. For Peter, God had to send an angel to open all three gates to release him. For Paul and Silas, it was an earthquake, for Cyrus, he promised to lose the loins of kings to open the two leaved gates. In Samsons’s story, in Judges 16:3, the Gazites had to hide at the gates to attack him, and the bible says that Samson in defiance, removed the gates and took them into the hills.
May the Lord cause you to remove gates placed in your way. We need to be in control of the gates. A lot of things happen at the gates; plans to subdue, plans to take away and plans to kill. When Absalom sought to overthrow King David, he began by wooing the people at the gate (2 Samuel 15:2). This allowed him to gain support and ultimately challenge David’s authority. We need to always try to possess our gates by praying ahead of time. Spiritual awakening is important in this situation. May God help us to be spiritually aware of our surroundings.
For some, the gate to progress is blocked by a persistent pattern of dreams they see at the end or beginning of the year; sometimes when a breakthrough is imminent. Some are blocked by persistent challenges, while others are held captive by recurring patterns of sickness. It’s as if every step forward is met with an obstacle. It drains resources and resists growth. It is as if they’re standing before gates that appear insurmountable By praying and seeking God’s guidance, we can unlock these gates and experience the breakthroughs we’ve been waiting for.
The story of Apostle Peter’s imprisonment in Acts 12 illustrates the importance of prayer and God’s intervention. When prayer was offered fervently, God sent an angel to deliver Peter from prison. There were multiple gates, with the final one being an iron gate, illustrating that gates can vary in nature and strength. Yet, regardless of the number or type of gates, God’s power prevailed, and Peter was rescued. The Bible says ‘the gate opened on his own accord’, showcasing the mighty hand of God at work. It’s not about the strength or number of gates, but about God’s authority and intervention.
The gate, recognizing its Master, yielded without resistance. May we draw motivation from this demonstration of God’s power, trusting that He can open doors and gates in our lives, no matter how secure or formidable they may seem. May we experience similar divine intervention in our lives when such situations arise.
Do not forget to pray when you find yourself at a gate, as God alone knows how to handle each gate.
By understanding the concept of gates in life, we can better navigate the challenges and opportunities that come our way. May we learn to trust in God’s plan and seek His guidance as we journey through life’s gates.
