Everybody Needs Power

by | Jul 29, 2024 | Inspiration

Many people believe that power comes from physical strength, money, and status, but true power comes from something much greater.

Everybody needs some level of power to be able to do what they do best and that power comes from God (Psalm 62: 11) says “God has spoken once, twice have I heard this that all power belongs to God…”.
The power of God is the most powerful form of power available to all.
On the physical we all have the power to move, power to speak, power to breathe, etc. If one loses his speech, we say ‘he has lost the power of speech’. God has made his power available to everyone such that we gain power through our experiences as well.

Education empowers us to know and understand certain things. Your skill or talent gives you the flair to do certain things while others struggle with it, and it can take you to places; that is also power.
There are powers that are specific to certain people and it makes them unique. God normally releases it for a specific task to accomplish his purpose. We see an example of this in 2 Kings 9 when Elijah instructed a young Prophet to anoint Jehu. His assignment for the power (anointing) was clear. To become king of Israel and to destroy the house of Ahab his king and Jezebel.

With all the anointing Elijah had, he did not have the power to kill Jezebel so Jehu had to be anointed to do that.
When Jesus sent the 70 disciples he gave them power to tread upon serpents and scorpions (Luke 10:19) so that they can preach the gospel and be able to win souls. They needed power to be listened to.
They needed power to cast out demons.
When David was installed king of Judah, he was anointed to become the king of Judah, then he was anointed again to become king of Jerusalem and then he had to be anointed again to become king of Israel. The anointing gave him the power to rule over the 3 cities and everything that is in them.

Both spiritually and physically he was recognized. That is why our newly installed chiefs go through certain rituals before they are fully accepted. The rituals empowers them to rule over the people and everything in it.
I have come to realize that in every situation, we need some level of power to back what we do. The fruit seller in the corner thinks she needs something to help her sell her fruits otherwise it may not be patronized. If she does that and you as a Christian don’t back yours with prayer, your wares will be in trouble.
Prayer is the key to unlock the power of God. I would advise you to join the Jesus power. It lasts a lifetime if you cling to it. It is not for show. It doesn’t take from others. Unlike the other ones, it cannot be manipulated. It can also help you overcome certain bad habits you don’t like. It does not demand anything from you and I; only prayer and your faith.

You also need power to do what you do, pray for it. The bible says ‘he giveth power to the weak, and those who have no might he increaseth strength’.
You see, the power of God can also make you strong when you are weak.
Other powers may abound but the power of God supersedes all; they are temporary. They all bow to the power of God. Philipians 2:10-11 says “at the mention of the name Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the father.”

There is power mighty in the name of Jesus and in the blood of Jesus as well. Some people gain other powers in exchange for their souls without knowing. Jesus gives power and life as well.
If you need to break away from lack, poverty, etc., it is God who gives us the power to make wealth (Deut.8:18), pray for it and wait. You need power to be established in the position you are right now.
Somebody is eyeing your position and is doing all they can to snatch it from you. Make Jesus your power, you will continue to occupy your space.

Whatever your need is, you don’t have the power yet. Pray for it. God’s power is available to everyone, no matter their faith or beliefs.
All it takes is an openness to receive it through prayer. It can empower us in all areas of our lives; from relationships to career success, etc.
If you have mistakenly gained power through other means do not worry the power of God can rescue you from it.
The Bible says he is our very present help (Psalm 46:1). Tell him that you have heard about his power and that your situation call for his intervention.
You want to believe in his power. He will respond, try it.
