Fear not; for I am with you:

by | Feb 9, 2025 | Inspiration

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.
God is with us. He has never left us.
Do not fear’ I am with you’ (Isaiah 41:10) is one of the encouraging words of God that has kept people going all their lives. It has been repeated over and over again in the bible.
Fear is a very dangerous weapon that the enemy uses against us. Fear comes in when we face uncertainties and unknowns; or when we have done something bad. Fear disengages our faith/trust in the LORD. It makes you forget the power you wield through the name of Jesus. Fear is something that weakens our faith and strength. It holds us back in life, but if we are able to look up to God, there will always be a way to overcome it.
If we cast our fears unto God, we will not be afraid anymore. Why should we think that we will lose something that God has given us. Our strength cannot maintain anything, but the power of God. Sometimes we create fears ourselves or we entertain it.
God’s promises through his word come to give us hope, confidence and the assurance we need to face whatever our fears may be. We may have some reasons to fear; but ‘fear not, I am with you’ comes to assure us of God’s protection for us. It comes at a time when fear has gripped us: but the all knowing God, who knows and sees everything releases His word to assure us that He is in control.
A promise such as ‘fear not….’ straightens us up when fear puts us down. Psalm 91:4 says ‘ He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust’ also reminds us not to fear. It reminds us that we are not alone and that there is a refudge somewhere we can run to, for safety when we are afraid. God always delivers on His promises and He is never late too.Trust in His promises. Fear not was Israel’s stength. Whenever they heard that from God, it meant that the battle has already been worn. Your battle has been won, fear not.
David trusted in His promises and became successful. Fear not’ in Isaiah 41;10 is followed by ‘be not dismayed, for I am thy God, (Let me ask you, Is He your God? You need to have a relationship with Him).
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand’ (Isaiah 41:10). God has a saving hand, so if you are looking for a safe place, make Him your safe place. His name is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and they are saved.
In Daniel chapter 3, Jesus, whom Nebucchardnezzer described as the son of God, the fourth person, walked in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Mezhak and Abednego; He was with them in the fire, so they did not die, they did not feel the heat. If we could be this brave in the face of adversities, that is what He will do for us. They did not see Him but He was with them because they trusted Him. Believe it when He says ‘do not fear’. He is with you now and will deliver you from all your fears.
When Joshua was going to war in Joshua chapter 10, God told him not to be afraid. Joshia 10 :1-8 ‘ …. And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
Your situation may look so huge in your eyes, but God is saying ‘fear not, I am with you.’
Do you know what happened to Joshua? Nations all over had gathered together against him and there was no way he and Israel could have defeated them but because he trusted in God, he defeated them all. Joshua 11:6 says ‘Do not be afraid of them because by this time tomorrow I will hand all of them slain unto your hands’ What can God not do. Ours is to believe in him and it is His to perform.
No matter how serious the problem may be, God is telling you ‘fear not.’
King Saul was close to killing David, but he called on the Lord and God caused Saul and his men to sleep, so David could escape. Call on Him if you are afraid.
When Pharaoh and his men were closing in on the Israelites at the Jordan, they were afraid, but when they called on the Lord, He made a way through the river Jordan.
Our God is able to deliver in all circumstances. What God cannot do does not exist. Fear not. You can also call on the Lord if you are afraid.
