God is offering ‘Amnesty’

by | Jun 30, 2025 | Inspiration

Do not let your past failures define you: God offers forgiveness, fresh start (amnesty) to those who think they have messed up big time and that they do not deserve a second chance. It is all because of His love and mercies for humanity. Find out how many times our sins have broken our relationship with God and how many times he has fixed it. He is still fixing our mess everyday. So what is keeping you from going back to him like the prodigal son did. He was accepted when he realized his mistake (Luke 15:11-32).
Even in grave sin, God still forgives. Isaiah 1:18 says ‘Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’
If you think you have killed before and you cannot be forgiven, remember that David also killed, Moses killed and they were all forgiven. Your story will not be different if you repent and ask God for forgiveness. If somebody is making you feel like you have committed the greatest sin on this earth, just believe that God does not condemn us. Jesus told the woman accused of adultery, ‘Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more” (John 8:11). This is the essence of second chances. We all have been given so many chances, and God is still in the business of second chances. He loves us so much that when we break the relationship, he tries to mend it. Adam and Eve broke the relationship between God and humanity, but God mended it through Jesus. In Romans 5:10-11, we read that ‘For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.
So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.’
Maybe you have a past of which you are ashamed. You feel tainted when you remember it; God is granting you amnesty, take the chance. I want you to think about Rahab today and remember that God gives second chances to people with sordid pasts.
The enemy will try to bring pictures of your past. He would have preferred that you never find forgiveness for that sin, but since you’ve done that already, at least he hopes to keep you in guilt and memories. He will always remind you but do not fall for it. If you repent and come to God, whatever it is that is haunting you will stop. He will give you a new lease of life.

Do not let shame or guilt hold you back. God offers forgiveness and a fresh start. Take it, and let Him transform your life. Let those who want to laugh, laugh, they will be “singing your praises’ later.
God is love and His love excels every situation (1 John 4:8). His arms are open to all; He sees the heart and Judges with mercy not with human standards. All are welcome.
