We find comfort and strength in God’s presence.
We often seek solace in various things, relationships, material possessions, or personal achievements; we fail to recognise that these things are insufficient to fill the void within us. His presence is enough. It completes us.
Throughout the Bible, we see the promise of God’s presence with His people. In Exodus 33:14, God says, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” In Matthew 28:20, Jesus assures us, “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
God’s presence is not just a feeling or an idea; it’s a reality that transforms our lives. In Exodus 33:15 we see Moses rejecting God’s offer to send His angel to go before them instead of His presence. There is difference between God’s presence leading us and His angel leading us. When the angel of God was sent to deliver an answer to Daniel’s prayer, the Prince of Persia was able to stop him and God had to send another angel Michael who was stronger than the prince of persia to deliver the answer.
There are limitations of angelic or any other intervention and the importance of God’s direct presence in our lives.
This distinction highlights the unique value of God’s presence. When God’s presence leads us, we have direct access to His power, wisdom, and love. Angelic intervention, while helpful, is not a substitute for God’s presence.
When God’s presence was with Israel represented by the Ark of the covenant of the Lord, their enemies were not even able to curse them. Miraculous things happened to them with the presence of God. They made history which is still being talked about today. At His presence, everything freezes; there is power, there is protection, there is enablement. When we invite God’s presence into our lives, we experience comfort in times of sorrow, pain, and uncertainty (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
We receive strength to face challenges, overcome obstacles, and persevere through difficult times (Philippians 4:13).
His presence brings peace that surpasses understanding, calming our fears and anxieties (Philippians 4:7).
His Presence brings contentment filling every void in our life.
Let us yearn for His presence. In our days, the Holy Spirit represents the presence of God. He is always ready to be with us.
While other things may offer temporary solace, only God’s presence can truly satisfy our deepest longings.
