The grace of God is usually defined as undeserved favour. It is the basis for the Christian faith. We believe that we are saved by the grace of God. It is available to all and it sustains us.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says ‘It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God: not by works so that no one can boast’
John 1:17 tells us the source of this grace “For the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ”.
There is a song which goes like this; ‘We have an anchor that keeps the soul, Steadfast and sure while the billows roll, Fastened to the Rock which cannot move, Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love’
Our anchor is the sustaining power of the grace of God: it holds us and keeps us from being swept off our feet in the midst of storms.
The grace offers a lifeline of hope to the struggling soul, to the disappointed, to the weak, etc.
The grace sustains us through every trial and tribulation. With it, we are able to survive anything. It empowers us in our weaknesses. It makes us not to want to give up.
In 2 Corinthians 12:10 Apostle Paul was sustained in his weakness because of the grace. God told him, ‘my grace is sufficient for you.’ It is the grace which helped Apostle Paul to endure the weakness.
Get connected through Jesus Christ. If you have Him you have the grace.
The peace that surpasses understanding guards our hearts and minds, calming fears and anxieties will be yours.
Without the grace, we cannot hold on to our faith for too long. It gives us the strength and the will to do things, to wait, to persevere, to endure, to be patient, etc.
We need the grace to sustain us in everyway to keep us going. David says, “Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my soul” (Ps. 54:4).
To be able to repent, you need grace. To be able to endure is by grace. To be able to overcome is by grace. If we are alive, it is by grace. We need to realise that all that we have and have become is by the grace of God and nothing else.
Paul acknowledged this in1 Cor. 15 :10 that “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me”
The grace also causes us to do things without stress.
‘Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That made a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see’
The sound of grace beeps through Jesus Christ, get connected.
