Who so diggeth a pit

by | Jan 21, 2025 | Inspiration

Life is ‘give and take’ . We receive in folds what we give. We also attract our kind in life. We attract what we practise. What we do to others opens doors for others to do same to us. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Whatever we sow, that shall we reap. If you want to be respected, respect others, if you want to be loved, love others, if you want mercy, be merciful. Do not expect any good for yourself while you do otherwise to others. It doesn’t work like that.

This is a principle of life. If we are fond of cursing others, curses will follow us. If we dig a pit for others, bible says we shall fall into it ourselves. If we enjoy breaking marriages, it is waiting for us. When we get married, the principle will cause somebody else to come and snatch our husbands from us. It is giving, and when we give, we get back, press down, shaking together, running over, shall men give unto us (Luke 6:38). It sounds funny but that is how it works.

You remember the story Jesus told about the king who wanted to settle his accounts with his servants in Matthew chapter 18:21-35? When the servant was not able to pay back what he owed, the king forgave him, but he refused to forgive his fellow servant who owed him and put him in jail. When the king heard about what the servant had done to his fellow servant, he also decided to put him in Jail. The Bible instructs us not to judge so that we are not judged; we should forgive so we will be forgiven.

Let’s see how God warned Mount Seir in Ezekiel 35:6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: since thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. What we practise pursues us, so let us watch we do.
If you kill by any means, you will go through similar experience.

If we do good, goodness will follow us.
So if we are doing something bad, let’s think again. If we don’t reap now, we will reap in the future. For some of us, it may not happen to us but our loved ones. Your child whom you love so much; whom you have so much expectations for. You may not be able to see the person in pain, yet you cannot help. What is more painful than that.
May God help us.
