Society is constantly changing. In spite of the pressures they come with, do not allow yourself to be influenced by bad things.
Do not let others change who you are. Do not try to live to please others.
God has made you special and unique. There is no one like you. Be yourself. The qualities that God has deposited in you are not common. Someone may have certain qualities you may admire but you cannot be like that person. You can learn from the person but you cannot be as effective as the person can be. Just try to be you and do what you can do best. You do not know where that will take you. The bible says ‘a man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men’ (Prov. 18:16). A person’s talent cannot be your talent no matter how well you copy.
‘Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2)…’ This is very true.
If you conform to the pressures you tend to live a fake life and you cannot please God. You will become a liar. You will create false impressions about yourself. That kind of life pressurizes one to borrow dresses, go after married men and do all sorts of dirty things just to feel belonged.
Trying to be rich prematurely will break you. You may enjoy it now but the repercussions, you cannot imagine. It has taken someone about 20 years to be able to buy the new car that you are wishing you had at this tender age. You need to keep in your lane. Your time will come. Do not envy the young people living flamboyant lives. You do not know how they make their money. I bet you, some of them are wishing they were like you but they cannot do anything about it now. They lack peace, they lack joy and satisfaction. All that glitters are not gold. Wait for the Lord’s own appointed time, and you will not regret it.
Prayerfully set goals for yourself and pursue them. Too much societal influence will lead you astray. Let God influence you.
Be your own brand.
