Psalm 11:3 says ‘If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do?’
Everything we do in life has its own foundation. The moment we begin life we build foundations each day of our lives for ourselves and for generations unborn. Foundations come in different forms. We inherit our foundations from the families we come from. The past deeds of our past lineage forms our foundation and that is what we build on, be it good or bad.
The bad ones come with curses and evil covenants and they will not go unless we seriously pray against them. Our foundations started with Adam and Eve. Because they sinned against God we have been sinners until now. The curses God placed upon them has remained with us until now and we keep building on them.
It was just a pronouncement but it became a foundation. And we see it happen in our lives. Still, men struggle to put food on the table. Women labour to give birth. There is enmity between the woman and the serpent. We kill snakes or they bite us (Genesis 3:15).
This is why we need to be mindful of the things we do or say. What happens in the early stages of our lives determines the outcome of our future.
Your education is a foundation for your future. The family values we are taught in our various homes are all foundations. When we marry, we begin a new foundation for our children to build on.
Every step you take now is a decider for things to come in the future. It is a foundation you are laying for yourself and generations to come. If you lay a good foundation it is all well and good. But if you lay a bad foundation it is not only going to affect you but your ‘seed’ also. And your seed may pay the price for your deeds unless you pray for forgiveness; and ask God to stop it from running through your family.
It is a principle and that is how it works. Deuteronomy 5:9 says ‘… and I will bring the curse of a father’s sins upon even the third and fourth generations of the children of those who hate me;’
If you choose to become an armed robber you will see it run through the family in association with the curses it comes with. Think about it.
