Guard Yourself Against System Destroyers

by | Aug 6, 2025 | Inspiration

There are vital systems that protect us as believers: the system of prayer (Matthew 26:41), the system of the Word (your word is a lamp to my feet (Psalm 119:105), and the system of faith (2.Cor. 5:7). These systems bring us close to God, guard and guide us, and strengthen us in our walk with Him. However, the enemy is cunning and knows that if he can attack these systems, he can weaken our connection to God and leave us vulnerable.
When the enemy attacks, he often targets our prayer life, our understanding and application of God’s Word, and our faith. He knows that these are the main systems through which God connects with us, and if we lose them, we will face significant spiritual challenges. The enemy will try to give us excuses to distance ourselves from church and its activities: enough excuses from blaming people to finding fault with everything they do, suggesting that we can worship God in our hearts alone. But the Bible emphasizes the importance of fellowship with other believers to keep these systems running effectively.
We cannot serve God in isolation. Fellowship with other believers is crucial for our spiritual growth and survival. When we meet together, we learn from one another, encourage each other, and are lifted up by the words and testimonies shared. Fear and doubt will not have too much grounds because that part of the body of Christ you are connected to will lift up your faith. The book of Acts shows us the power of unity and fellowship in the early church, where believers presented a powerful witness to the world despite persecution.
We are the body of Christ, and each of us has a vital role to play. Just as the head cannot function without the rest of the body, we cannot thrive spiritually without being connected to and working with other believers. Each member of the body has unique gifts and contributions to offer, and by working together, we can support one another and fulfill God’s purposes.
In the church, we may encounter individuals like Judas, Sanballat, and Tobias, who may not share our values or commitment to God. But we must not let their presence deter us. Instead, we need to stand firm, overcome challenges, and remain committed to our faith and to one another. As 1 Peter 5:8 warns, “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” We must be vigilant and guard ourselves against system destroyers, knowing that they seek to devour us.
To guard against system destroyers, we must commit ourselves wholeheartedly to God’s Word, prioritize prayer and fellowship, and stand firm in our faith. As Deuteronomy 11:18-20 instructs, we should tie God’s Word to our hands, wear it on our foreheads as reminders, and teach it to our children. By doing so, we can effectively resist the enemy’s attacks and fulfill our purpose as the body of Christ.
