Like the thief He cometh, stay awake

You might not like this article, nor want to share it, but it’s the truth. We don’t want to scare ourselves unnecessarily, but it’s a good reminder to be vigilant and keep our house in order so we’re not caught off guard. Christ is coming again: Maranatha!
Revelation 16:15 says “Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed
This scripture emphasizes the unexpected and sudden nature of Christ’s second coming. Let us all remain vigilant and prepare at all times.
We all know how to take measures to protect our homes from thieves; we stay alert even in the night to ensure we are safe. That is how we should behave in preparation towards Christ’s coming; keeping watch to ensure we don’t miss him since He is going to come like a thief. Let us make sure we are ready for the taking. This kind of measure ensures we shall be taken when He comes. Unlike the real thief who comes to steal our belongings. We are His belongings. Christ comes to take His selected belongings. He will take the good ones and leave the rest to burn. We can’t control the timing, but we can control our readiness. The Bible encourages us to be vigilant. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. (Matthew 24:42); Let us behave like we are waiting to board a flight at the airport, checking every now and then for updates on its arrival. We look out for gates or platform through which we will board the flight. From now on, we should be checking and listening to the information from the PA which may be compared to the word of God, guiding us how we should live our lives. It is not about whose prophecies came to pass, nor who prayed more, or whom God used to do miracles the most. This is about how we lived our lives for which we will have to give account. How we used our bodies will be accounted for: we will account for the loose and careless talks, we will give account of the things we did. Let us work on our salvation with fear and trembling (Philipians2:12).
If you are considering your commitment to God in your old age then think twice. This is not the time to say I have a lot of life ahead of of me, so let me do that later Ecclesiastes 12:6 says ‘Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don’t wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well.’ For you don’t know when He will come. We are in the last days, anything can happen. The bible says he will come like a thief. No warning, no hint, he will just enter like a thief. Let us remain under the secret place of the most high as per Psalm 91:1. You see how the hen protects its chicks. They get caught by the crow when they are out from under their mother’s protection. Do not leave, abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
“For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”Thessalonians 5:2
