Amos chapter 4: 10 tells us that not all unpleasant situations are from the devil. ” I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.”
God himself creates certain situations to get our attention. God wants to be close to you. He does that to those he loves. So if you are in very bad situation, please turn to God. If it is from the devil he will save you, if it is from him it will come to an end.

Some people get close to God through difficulties in child bearing, some through delay in marriage, others through poverty, others through sickness, etc. Somehow, someway, they get close to God.
However, those who are in the habit of seeking quick solutions elsewhere are the ones Amos 4:6-11 is talking to. Why don’t you go to Him? All your solutions are with him. He is only holding it because he wants you to come to him. The job you are looking for is with Him.
We read in the bible how he turned enemies against the Israelites whenever they turned to other gods. Whenever they realized their mistake and went back to him he would always be glad to receive them and their problems would come to an end.

Our attitude towards God is like the way we do with drugs. They tell us the drugs are good but if we use it and after 3 days the problem persist go and see your Doctor. Why don’t I go to the Doctor for the problem to be solved once and for all?
The Lord is waiting for us to bring our problems for solutions yet we go to wrong places looking for solutions we can never get. Sometimes those who claim to be powerful can tell you point blank that your solution is with God.
Turn to him, he only needs your attention. You are compounding your problem by moving from one place to another.
Turning to Jesus is like one stop shop, you will get your salvation, peace; if it is healing, you will be healed, if it joblessness, you will get a job. Whatever it is that you need, you will get it solved without being indebted to anyone..
