We all face various forms of situations in our lives: While someone is coming out of darkness, another is entering the darkness. Another has seen the light of day. Someone is happy and another is sad. Someone’s storm has passed and another is in the middle of it. Life is full of seasons. Every storm will pass: your sun will shine again, and your peace will be restored and life will be better than before. All these situations are natural and temporary. But as humans as we are, we may be terrified and confused. If you could go close to an elderly person to discuss your issue, you would realize that people went through worse things and came out victorious. Ecclesiastes 1:9 says ‘there is nothing under the sun that has not happened before ..’
Storms come in various forms – financial, emotional, unfortunate incidence, relationship issues, health problems, or spiritual problems. These storms can be intense and overwhelming, leaving us feeling drained, helpless and exhausted.
Jesus Himself calmed storms yet, He faced storms during His time on earth. In Mark 4:35-41, we read about Jesus calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee. The disciples were terrified, but Jesus was peaceful and confident.
So, how do we find peace in the midst of life’s storms? The answer lies in Philippians 4:7, which says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
This peace is not something we can manufacture on our own. It’s a supernatural peace that comes from God alone. When we put our trust in Him and surrender our worries and fears to Him, we can experience this peace, even in the midst of the turmoil.
The storm may rage on, but we can have peace in the midst of it. Let us believe that God is with us, guiding and protecting us through the storm. And when the storm finally passes, we’ll emerge stronger, wiser, and more faithful.
God promises in Isaiah 43:2-3, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
The storm may be raging now, but it will pass. The sun will shine again, and peace will be restored. Hold on to hope, my friend. Trust in God’s goodness and sovereignty. He is with you, and He will carry you through the storm.
There is a song which says ‘no throne without the cross, there is no sacrifice without the blood’. We all have to sacrifice something one way or the other.
Remember, the storm is temporary, but God’s peace is eternal.
Father in the name of Jesus, all of us are facing various degrees of storms. Since you are the one who calms storms, we bring them to you in exchange for your peace. Father you know how we feel with these things persisting. We cannot run away from them now but we believe that with time they will disappear in the name of Jesus.
Stay with us and give us victory in the name of Jesus.
